Frequently asked questions

Can a non-resident register a Czech s.r.o.?

Yes. Foreign individuals and companies — EU and non-EU alike — can be sole or joint shareholders in a Czech s.r.o. The whole process is handled remotely via a notarised power of attorney; you never need to visit the Czech Republic.

What is the minimum share capital for a Czech s.r.o.?

The statutory minimum is CZK 1 (one Czech crown). In practice we recommend at least a few thousand CZK so the company looks credible to banks and partners.

What corporate tax rate applies in the Czech Republic?

Czech corporate income tax is 21% on net profit. Dividends paid to a natural person (resident or non-resident) are subject to 15% withholding tax. The Czech Republic is not a low-tax jurisdiction — it offers EU market access, legal certainty and a robust banking system instead.

Does the Czech Republic have a VAT system?

Yes. Standard VAT rate is 21%, reduced rate 12%. Mandatory registration once turnover exceeds 2 000 000 Kč (≈ 80,650 €) per calendar year, or immediately above 2 536 500 Kč.

Is the Czech Republic in the eurozone?

No. The Czech Republic uses the Czech Crown (CZK) and has no confirmed euro-adoption date. This is relevant for e-commerce sellers who need to account for currency exchange.

How do I open a Czech company account remotely?

We guide you through the bank onboarding process. Some Czech banks accept non-resident clients remotely; others require a one-time branch visit. We match you with the right bank for your situation.
